This quilt was the second larger quilt I made. The design is alternatively squares and strips, with the center being small squares. The prints were fat quarter bundles from Aldi. The border, binding, and backing is a cream cotton.
The colors and prints of this quilt remind me of spring. The quilt was also finished at just the end of winter 2020, in anticipation for spring.
The verse is:
"Ask Adonai for rain in spring! Adonai makes the storm clouds and will give rain showers and plants of the field to everyone." (Zechariah 10:1 TLV)
This verse reminds us that God is Lord over all, including the weather. He can cause rain showers to come whenever He pleases and cause fields to sprout. Rain is most important in spring, especially in the desert where Israel is. Even the most drought-tolerant plants can't germinate without some moisture.
While God did set up the earth to run on a set of rules and procedures, He still has control over it. He made the water cycle, but He can expedite or bypass this process at any time. This same God can make the sun stand still, cause mountains to flower, withhold rain from the wicked, cause deserts to bloom, and, in this verse, water fields in the springtime. If He can stop celestial bodies from moving and completely change the weather, what can't He do in your life? Stop limiting God to only Sundays and small blessings. The God who soaks the deserts with spring rain can overwhelm your life with favor from His heavenly clouds. All you have to do is ask!
