Menorah

The menorah is a candelabra specified by G-d in the building of the temple. Despite being wrought of gold, its imagery is primarily based on and almond blossoms. There's another place in scripture with almond blossoms. When G-d decided Aaron was to be His priest, Aaron's walking staff, a definitely dead and detached almond branch, flowered to show G-d's choice. The staff was to be used as a sign of G-d's constancy to Israel, especially that they wouldn't die in the desert. The staff was to be visible, and later the menorahs would've been visible in the temple as well, a similar sign to Israel.

You can read the story of Aaron's staff blooming in Numbers 17. Also, there are more facts about the menorah here.
